QuantumValley: Quantum made in Campania
Strategic Vision
QuantumValley aims to become a quantum hub in the Mediterranean, a beacon for Europe, attractive to talents and international investments.
Within the TeaTek innovation hub, it can become the European center of expertise specializing in the system integration and maintenance of superconducting quantum computers.
We want to nurture the QVC Community (Quantum Valley Campania) and fuel the already large quantum community in Campania, to make it stand out on the global stage:
- Supports the creation of additional start-ups that build vertical applications in sectors such as cybersecurity, financial optimization, and new material simulations.
- Provides training and continuous technical support for the design and maintenance of large-scale quantum computing systems.
- Interfaces and provides collaborative pathways with Italian and international entities (academia, start-ups, national laboratories) that want to contribute to the development of the regional ecosystem.
Adopting an open quantum architecture approach, we collaborate with all the key players along the entire quantum value chain — from cryogenics to wiring, from quantum processors to control electronics, from calibration software to fully integrated platforms for the execution of advanced algorithms.
As a quantum system integrator, QuantumValley leverages commercially available and widely tested components to ensure reliability and interoperability, while achieving top-tier performance.
Having already designed and implemented several quantum systems for internal use and for commercial partners, QuantumValley dedicates its R&D resources to the innovation of scalable cryogenic systems (new dilution refrigerators) and Predictive Error Mitigation (PEM) techniques to ensure scalability and reliability for next-generation systems.
Territory enhancement with opening to new strategic partners
We aim to create a Valley where regional quantum entities converge, with a clear value in the country's system strategy and participation in the most high-profile Italian and international initiatives.
The Quantum Valley Campania Community (QVC) will act as a catalyst between the academic expertise of Naples and Salerno, attracting tens of millions in investment from non-Campania entities, creating a scientific excellence network specialized in superconducting quantum technology unique in its kind.
Creation of a HighTech assembly and testing facility at the former Whirlpool plant (TeaTek, Theia Innovation). Development laboratories for cryogenic hardware and quantum software, and for innovation in components.
Institutional support
The QuantumValley project is well aligned with European projects, with direct participation in European projects (ChipsAct JU and flagship Quantum (Horizon 2020)). Furthermore, it will benefit from European funds (PNRR, Horizon Europe) and regional funds (regional call "Quantum Valley", STEP) for innovation projects in the design and implementation of full-stack quantum systems and the management of the Quantum Valley Campania ecosystem.
Creating a technological district of global significance - Ecosystem Quantum Valley Campania (QVC)
Quantum Computers from 100+ qubits
Proprietary quantum technologies
Training centres with universities and schools
International collaborations with companies and universities
QuantumValley integrates already mature superconducting QPUs to install cutting-edge quantum computers:
- Integrates cryogenic technologies “1000q ready” (Dilution refrigerator models such as Bluefors, Maybell), wiring (e.g., DelftCircuits), electronics (e.g., Qblox and ZI), and software (e.g., ClassiQ, IBM Qiskit)
- Installs systems on customer premises, provides support as a single point of contact/fast response with local 24/7 support
- Offers software interfaces with remote access using open-source and proprietary languages and SDKs such as Qiskit, CirQ, Qmod, QuASAM. Includes access to integrated python IDE platforms with access to HPC simulators and GPU, large libraries, and a learning platform.
- Coordinates seminars and training courses on hardware, software, and conceptual algorithm design (TreQ, Planckian, UNINA, ClassiQ)
- Provides advanced integrated quantum solutions to international clients
